Getting real... my first Sim

Writer: Andrew ClarkeAndrew Clarke

When you get sick and tired of the pedals moving on the floor and the ergonomics of a perfectly placed steering wheel, you need to go with a proper SIM set-up.

You can do this from very little, to very expensive. I decided to start on very little, so I bought a SIM set-up from Kogan to go with my Logitech wheel and pedals.

The upside was now I had somewhere to place the gearstick, meaning I could actually drive like I was in a real car.

For my first effort two things I know OK, a Mazda MX-5 at Oran Park.

Immediately, it is easier when it feels like you are driving a car rather than a computer game.

I still have a long way to go, but I’ll let you know how I go.
